ASSIGNMENT OF SOCIAL WORK PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS BY UKRAINIAN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS: WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS?

In social work, considerable attention is paid to the assignment of professional qualifications. This could be explained by applied nature activities workers and requirements for quality their services.This paper aims overview current regulatory qualifications analyze practice higher education institutions (HEIs) that prepare work students, as well qualification centers. The research based on document analysis (texts legislation other legal regulations Ukraine; educational occupational standards; materials accreditation cases available NAQA website, descriptions programs, etc.).The normative documents confirms full or partial are described in approved standard, which contains name qualification, job functions, expected competencies, etc. HEIs intending intend award must take into account relevant standard.The assigning does not meet these expectations. Some were invented themselves, some taken from Classifier Professions, Handbook Qualification Characteristics Employees. do pay what level required standard Handbook, subject specialization specified documents. mainly automatic, without additional verification existing learners’ competencies.At same time, centers have begun operate Ukraine. They also assign qualifications, particular but exclusively basis appropriate standard. discusses possible steps streamline regulate issue
